We are delighted to announce our partnership with BURN manufacturing in support of our Kerosene eradication movement as well as to promote a healthy, wholesome lifestyle. This partnership aims at serving you better by providing you with a combination of two efficient, clean, state-of-the-art technology to support clean cooking, lighting and device charging for your loved ones in rural areas. You can also use them in your own living space as an urbanite.
The Little DREAM Box has always provided renewable energy for lighting and device charging. However, after extensive research, we realized that it is not enough to provide safe and renewable energy for lighting and device charging while not including the aspect of clean cooking. We aim at totally transforming the African home by freeing them from the use of energy sources and fuels that cause harm to communities and that significantly contribute to pollution. Our DREAM is to build a sustainable, healthy and safe community from now and generations to come.
The typical African home uses charcoal or kerosene stoves either as their main source of cooking or as a backup to aid in prolonging the lifespan of expensive LPG cookers. This is not just done in low income households but also among the first class bracket. In many households in Africa that can afford LPG gases, the typical kitchen consists of both charcoal stoves and an LPG gas. The cooking stoves are used to cook large pots of food that may take a longer duration of time to cook (beef, cereals and boiling large pots of water ) while LPGs are used for food that take a shorter time to cook. Why is this? Well, this is because LPG gases are expensive to households and therefore, when one purchases it, they expect it to last longer. The use of charcoal and kerosene stoves in urban households do not just cause the release of toxic gases but also to other neighbors. This has been reported to cause nuisance to the neighborhood. Charcoal is also not tidy. Black residues may cause the living environment to look unsightly. Urban houses consist apartments and houses that are built close to each other. Therefore, they are not designed to adapt to the use of such charcoal stoves that cause the spread of smoke to other neighbors and a higher risk for fires.
In the rural areas, many use charcoal and kerosene stoves which have caused deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning, respiratory diseases and loss of property through fires. This is because their designs display little to no safety considerations. These fuels have also been known to crush children’s dreams by causing blindness.
Our customers are now be able to acquire clean cooking and lighting technology as a package; The Little DREAM BOX and BURN’S Kuniokoa Turbo Jiko. The Kuniokoa Turbo Jiko is a cooking stove that’s been designed for sustainability, safety and efficiency. This cooking stove uses briquettes(fuel made from recycled and biodegradable materials) which burn more consistently thus enabling longer cooking time an less use of resources such as wood. It also has a fan that enables combustion as it also significantly reduces emissions by 81% less than the average cooking stove. The little smoke released is clean, not black like other cooking stoves and therefore it does not cause discoloration. The fan is powered by The Little DREAM Box.
We look forward to fruitfully and efficiently adding a significant impact to communities across Africa through the partnership with BURN Manufacturing, the only vertically integrated modern cookstove company in Sub-Saharan Africa.
